Iron City Distilling is proud to announce the arrival and commissioning of our brand new 3 Chamber Still, the first still of its kind to be operational in Pennsylvania in over 65 years. But just what in the world is a “chamber still”. Some say that a 3 Chamber Still is like having three pot stills stacked on top of each other. Others believe it is a lost interim technology occurring somewhere between pot stills and continuous columns. Whatever it is, all we know is that these are the stills that helped make Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey in PA and we couldn’t be more excited to bring this integral part of our state’s distilling history back to life. Just like everything else we do here at Iron City Distilling, we want to move into the future by honoring our distilling forefathers. The 3 Chamber Still is just another way we’re trying to put a taste of history in your glass.
